Meet the Staff

Scott and Cheryl Hines

Senior Pastor and Women's Pastor

Pastor Scott has been our senior pastor for 36 years. Scott and Cheryl have been married for 43 years, and she leads alongside him as our women's pastor and the church's office manager.  Scott was born and raised in Klamath Falls and attended KCC during his college years before going into full time ministry in Eugene, OR, Olympia, WA, and then pioneering a church in Baker City, OR. Cheryl has a degree in psychology with an emphasis in counseling and values the diversity of the body of Christ, having spent time in Lutheran, Catholic, and Assembly of God churches before joining Foursquare.

Scott enjoys cycling, Cheryl loves to spend time with people, and they both like traveling and spending time with their two children and two grandchildren. 

Kelly Slater

Men’s Pastor

Kelly and his wife Mary pastored a Foursquare church in Santa Rosa California from 1995 to 2020. Early in that pastoral assignment Kelly was bi-vocational, working both as Pastor and full-time firefighter. In 2009, Kelly retired from a 28 year fire service career and continued pastoring the Santa Rosa foursquare church until 2020. Kelly and Mary moved to Klamath Falls and began attending Klamath Christian Center. In 2022 Kelly was hired as Pastor of our Men's Ministry and overseer of the maintenance ministry.

Kelly and Mary have three adult children and enjoy time with their grandchildren.

Cody Burkett 

Youth Ministry Director

Cody Burkett joined our staff full time in October of 2023 as the youth ministry director. He and his wife Rachel first came to KCC in 2016 when he was stationed at Kingsley Field. He has served in the United States Air Force and Oregon Air National Guard for over 12 years. Cody and Rachel have been together for 17 years (4 years dating and 13 married). They are originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and have made Klamath Falls their home.  Cody and Rachel have served in youth ministry all over the world  in various capacities and have loved every minute of it.

Cody and Rachel are adventure-loving extroverts and love being with people. When he can, Cody enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, fishing and working on his Jeep. 

Mike and Mindee Evans-Maxson

 Children's Ministry Directors

Mike and Mindee Evans-Maxson direct the Children’s Ministry here at KCC. They have been on staff since 2020. They are both on the teaching team and Mike oversees the sound ministry. Mike and Mindee met on the mission field in Africa and have been married for 16 years; they have three children, Kylie, CJ, and Zoey. Together they were missionaries in Senegal, Africa for 12 years, where they helped run Dakar Academy, a school for missionaries’ kids with Mike teaching elementary school and Mindee running the library.

Mike and Mindee are playful people who love to have fun and are passionate about helping children and their parents build a firm foundation of faith. When they’re not traveling, which is often, you are likely to find them playing sports, listening to podcasts, doing home improvement projects, or adventuring outdoors.

Philip Perkins

Associate Pastor

Philip overseas life groups, prayer ministry, and our live stream ministry, along with other duties. He has called KCC home since 2013 when he moved to Klamath Falls to attend Oregon Tech. After some years as a product engineer, he completed a seminary degree and joined staff full-time in 2022 .

Philip is caring and adventurous and always loves to learn something new. He is passionate about helping people learn to hear the voice of God and connect in life-giving community. Some of Philip's favorite hobbies are backpacking, woodworking, and playing music.

Cheryl Moe

Secretary

Cheryl Moe is our receptionist and adminstative professional. She has been a member of KCC for 32 years and worked for 11 years in children's ministry. She has 20 years experience directing daycare and preschools and coaching sports. She and her husband Ron have been married for 44 years and have two daughters.

Cheryl has a huge heart for the poor and enjoys managing our benevolence ministry. She loves volunteering. 

Helen Pryor

Bookkeeper

Helen is our bookkeeper and leads our 55 Alive ministry. She was born in Klamath Falls and started keeping the books at KCC in 2012 after more than 30 years experience in bookkeeping for a local business. She has one son and two daughters, six grandkids, and seven great-grandchildren.

Helen wants everyone to know that it is never too late to get saved! Her husband was 72 years old when he was baptized and they enjoyed over 48 years of marriage.
